THE HISTORY OF RESTAURANT MARRAKESH
When Rashid Lyazidi and Rashid Choufani came to the United States in 1984, they knew they werent here just to open a restaurant. They were here to bring the entire culture of their homeland to a huge American audience as well as international visitors, and for Moroccan gastronomy in particular, they were the pioneers

Restaurant Marrakesh and World Showcase Morocco in at represents the beautiful Moroccan marriage of traditions and creativity.

From executive chef Lahsen Abrache to general manager Abdou Essaydi and , to the rest of the staff at Restaurant Marrakesh, everyone is adept at making guests feel like they are dining in a king's palace. They answer questions with smiles and make sure diners are having a good time. "We want everyone to feel at home here".

In the 18 years the Rashids have been here, they say they have seen a huge growth in the popularity of Moroccan food. "Wherever you go in the States, our cuisine is now highly appreciated. It is flavorful, healthy, and delicious", Lyazidi said.

To expand their offerings even more, the Rashids recently opened next door to Restaurant Marrakesh, the Tangierine Cafe. "A quick service with a fusion of Mediterranean flavors and spices", Choufani said. Tangier is the gateway to the Mediterranean and we want to showcase all kinds of specialities from the region in the cafe.

Lyazidi and Choufani are just as proud of the new Tangierine Cafe as they were 18 years ago when they opened Restaurant Marrakesh. "We are very proud to bring a friendly and interesting new experience to the American people. Our cuisine is known in Europe for being one of the top three in the world."the Rashids said.
